Meet Dr. Tripp's Behavior Practice Team

Introducing Amanda Miller, RVT
Veterinary Behavior Technician (VBT)

Amanda and one of her companions Sally

Amanda Miller, RVT, graduated from Ashland University in 1999 with a BA in History. In 2003, she attended the “DOGS!” Course and was one or three students in the Cedar Valley College American Animal Hospital Association’s (AAHA) Distance Education Veterinary Technician Program to earn a Veterinary Technology Associate’s Degree.

Currently, Amanda has worked for the past eight years at Daisy Hill Animal Hospital, Ltd. in Ashland, Ohio as the Medical Surgical Manager  In her "spare time" at the hospital, she also teaches puppy socialization classes and coordinates puppy parenting and training appointments as well as providing behavior consultations.

Amanda has been a member of the
Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians (SVBT) for the past four years. She serves as The Behavior Perspective Editor and is the current Corresponding Secretary for the SVBT. She is also a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians Association (NAVTA) and also serves on the American Animal Hospital Association’s Annual Conference Development Committee.  Amanda lectured at the 2006 Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians at the Jefferson College continuing education meeting on “Incorporating Behavior Techniques into Daily Practice.”

When she’s not working, Amanda enjoys hiking in Maine, teaching Sally the clumber spaniel new tricks, tormenting the cat PunkE with her enthusiasm for clicker training, and annoying her husband Matt with gross Veterinary Technician stories.  Not to mention, she is a devout CE junkie and may turn up at a Behavior Technician or Trainer’s meeting near you. If so, say hello and offer to write an article for, The Behavior Perspective. It will make her day!
