Place a small amount of his feces or (your) urine
in the preferred toilet area to communicate,
“This is the toilet place.”
Keep on leash in the toilet area,
(no roaming around yard).
Give command “Go potty” or “Get Busy”
when starting to actually squat.
If the dog eliminates, praise and reward for several minutes.
Go for a leash walk, give treats, do playtime, whatever this dog wants
Then return to confinement when you are not DIRECTLY supervising.
Increase freedom in the house as your confidence increases.
Learn your dog’s elimination pattern.
