Getting Started - Learning social skills

Kitten play groups

Kittens learn important and lasting social skills from playing with other kittens.

Teach your kitten to greet, meet, and get along with new cats now to avoid fear or aggression problems in the future.

Look for safe, enriched environments for kitten play. Kitten socialization classes are wonderful but hard to find. Consider looking up littermates, visiting pet stores or inviting friends to your home.

Introduce
new people with treats and toys. Pass the kitten around but do not force anything. You want your kitten to remember a positive experience.

Contrary to public option, felines are very social. Consider adopting two kittens or a kitten and mother to give your kitten a companion.
