Getting Started Day Eleven - Feedback is the Breakfast of Champions

Canines are pack animals. It is natural for them to want to be indoors with the family and to be stressed by isolation. Outdoor dogs are harder to train and have more stress-related unwanted behaviors. Teach your dog house rules and keep the family together.

1.  It's best to catch Puppy in the "intention phase" before "the act". There's a one to two second window where you can interrupt the unwanted behavior (circle and sniff to potty) with an "Eh eh" or "No!" or pick up the pup, THEN redirect (take Puppy outdoors) and give a small food treat for behaviors you DO want (using the potty area.)

2.  Don't use a chain saw if you only need a butter knife when choosing voice tone and volume to interrupt a behavior.
